To the Brethren of Alabama,
Governor Ivey has announced her plan to allow the Stay-At-Home order expire for the State of Alabama on April 30th. However, she has now issued a Safer-At-Home order which continues to strongly encourage social distancing and enforces gathering guidelines. She has not allowed restaurants to re-open for sit down customers and continues to require all non-work gatherings to be 10 people or less. Additionally, she has not allowed Churches and other Houses of Worship to re-open and continues to restrict funeral services to 10 people or less. In conformity with her directive and with the safety and well-being of all of the Brethren in mind, I have decided to extend the current suspension of all Masonic activities in Alabama to May 15th, 2020.
I assure you that this decision was made with the good of Alabama Masonry in mind. Your Grand Lodge Officers will continue to closely monitor the situation and will address our next course of action as soon as updated information comes available. I humbly ask for your support and assistance as we continue to endure the COVID-19 situation in Alabama. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with each of you again in the very near future.
Mike Taylor
Grand Master
